FORUM LAUNCHES TERRY BRADLEY EXHIBITION

FORUM LAUNCHES TERRY BRADLEY EXHIBITION

The Millennium Forum held a special launch evening recently for its recent exhibition of the acclaimed Northern Irish artist, Terry Bradley.  Guests explored some of Terry’s most well-known pieces in this exhibition including ‘Man With Pipe’, ‘Not Broken’ and ‘Those Left Behind’.  The exhibition is currently displayed throughout the theatre and is now open to the public.

Terry Bradley is a renowned Northern Irish artist celebrated for his bold, emotive style and evocative depictions of strength and vulnerability. Born in Belfast in 1965 during ‘The Troubles,’ Bradley turned to art as a form of escape and expression. His work often features powerful, independent women and resilient men, reflecting themes of identity, emotion and endurance. Using striking lines and vibrant colours, Bradley captures the spirit, struggles and resilience of his homeland. Exhibited internationally from Dublin to New York, his art remains deeply rooted in Belfast, celebrating both its history and the strength of its people.

Terry’s willingness to discuss his mental health struggles and how he ususes artwork as a form of therapy has attracted many to his work and created a community within his followers. The breakdown of barriers creates a sense of safety for many, giving them space to feel heard, while offering hope for the future and a reminder to ‘Never Give Up’, a message at the heart of Terry’s work.

In addition to Terry’s own work, the Millennium Forum is also hosting the latest finalists in his ‘Bradley Art Prize’, a competition launched in 2023 which was created to drive fresh talent and creativity among artists in Northern Ireland. Terry’s vision has always been to support and nurture those with a passion for art, including artists who use creativity as a form of escapism. He firmly believes that Northern Ireland is home to an incredible wealth of raw talent. The competition is for anyone aged 14 and above, divided into three age categories: 14 - 18, 19 - 23, and Over 23s.

The prize winners will also have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Bradley Gallery, Victoria Square in Belfast, showcase their art at the Northern Ireland Executive Offices in Brussels and also receive cash prizes and art vouchers generously supported by Bradbury Art Belfast.

Terry Bradley’s exhibition is currently running at the Millennium Forum.
