NEW PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED FOR AUTUMN
The Millennium Forum has just announced its brand new season of events for the upcoming autumn season.
The new season opens with the Forum’s 25th anniversary celebrations. It’s hard to believe that the theatre has reached this milestone and staff look forward to welcoming local audiences to its Open Day in September.
There are a number of in-house productions for patrons to enjoy this season. The Body of Bobby, written by local playwright, Gary Breslin, took the top prize in the Forum’s recent Paul Diamond New Writers Award and everyone is very much looking forward to hosting its World Premiere on the Forum stage in October. It’s set in Derry in the 1980s and local audiences are guaranteed to enjoy its dark humour and witty writing.
The Forum’s panto this year is Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs. Once again, there is a cracker show planned that all the family will love, and local audiences will look forward to making those special festive memories at the theatre this Christmas.
As usual, there’s plenty of fantastic live music on offer with the return of Billy Ocean, David Essex, Phil Coulter and Paul Brady, amongst others. Irish favourites, Onoir and Picture This are also back for sell-out shows later this year, so, if you’ve been lucky to grab tickets for those, then you’re in for a real treat!
If comedy is your thing, then there’s lots to keep you laughing over the coming months with the Cat Laughs Festival in September, Andrew Ryan in October, Fintan Harvey in November and Emer Maguire in December, plus lots more.
For classical fans, there’s the incredible Ballet Ireland’s stunning production of Romeo & Juliet, and the Ulster Orchestra returns with their ever-popular, The Magic of Christmas.
Looking ahead to 2027 and the anticipated return of the hit West End musical, Dirty Dancing, will undoubtedly be a big hit with local audiences. This incredible show performed to sell-out audiences the last time it appeared on the Forum stage and there’s no doubt that tickets will be in huge demand for it this time around.
